Django Messg™
Give the receiving service a clear contract.
For a Django-backed intake route, define what the application accepts, how requests are authenticated where needed, and how an accepted inquiry becomes owned work.
Three decisions to make first.
Validate on the receiving side
Browser checks improve usability, but the receiving application needs its own rules for acceptable input. Define length, structure, supported content, and error behavior without assuming the browser can enforce trust.
Review request protection in context
A public inquiry, a logged-in action, and an administrative change have different security needs. Review the framework’s current guidance against the actual endpoint rather than applying a label such as CSRF-safe without analysis.
Separate receipt from downstream work
Decide what must succeed before the application reports acceptance. If notifications or CRM processing happen later, make their failures visible without making the original inquiry disappear.
A useful starting sequence.
- Specify the endpoint’s input and outcome contract.
- Review authentication and request protections.
- Test rejected, repeated, and interrupted delivery paths.
What not to assume.
The static Messg website does not run a Django application. This guide covers architecture decisions for a separately operated receiving service.
For a practical review, describe the intended audience, the information crossing each boundary, and the person responsible when the ordinary path fails.
One useful question.
Must the frontend and receiver use the same framework?
No. They can be separate, but that separation introduces explicit interface, origin, authentication, and operational decisions. Define those boundaries rather than relying on a shared brand or visual design.
Keep the idea moving.

WordPress, Django, and Hugo: where does the message actually go?
Separate publishing from receiving, define the intake contract, and test the journey across CMS and deployment boundaries.
